ALABEL, Sarangani (January 14, 2009) – These hook and line fisherfolk would soon benefit from the town’s old port which is due to be developed as a satellite fish port for General Santos City fish port. The P7-million project is a joint undertaking of the local government of Kiamba, with emergency livelihood assistance from the Department of Agriculture. At least 30% of tuna, tuna-like and other marine yields in GSC fish port are from Kiamba and nearby Maitum. (Photo by Cocoy Sexcion/SARANGANI INFORMATION OFFICE)
