Mindanao has six (6) political divisions; Zamboanga Peninsula (Region IX), Northern Mindanao (Region X), Davao Region (Region XI), SOCCSKSARGEN (Region XII), CARAGA (Region XIII) and Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (ARMM).Fishing is number one industry in Mindanao and a city tag as tuna capital of the Philippines is also here in Southern part of the island which is General Santos City. Palm oil and rubber plantation industries is also invested in Agusan del Sur, Sultan Kudarat and some part of western Mindanao respectively.
Two vast pineapple plantation in Asia is located in the island, the DOLE Philippines in South Cotabato and Del Monte Philippines in Bukidnon.Central Mindanao tag as one of our rice granary in the country and Davao region the number one banana and exotic fruit (durian) producer.
