Cotabato City Mayor Muslimin G. Sema approved on January 4 the P 502 million budget of the city government for 2010. The approved budget is P83, 490, 000 higher than 2009, or an increase of 20%.
Expected IRA or Internal Revenue Allotment is P 412,115,951 while income from local sources is estimated at P 89,884,049.
Sema said that the budget will cover payment for personal services, maintenance and other operating expenses, capital outlay, financial assistance to courts and KB Federation, calamity fund and the 20% community development fund, among others. Gender and development projects, early child care and development, and projects related to senior citizens and the disabled will also get a big chunk of the budget pie.
The budget is contained in City Ordinance No. 3751 passed by the 12th Sangguniang Panlungsod on December 29, 2009.
