20 children enrolled in public elementary and high schools receive on Sept. 22 their monetary assistance from the City Government of Cotabato.
City Mayor Mus Sema and OSWDS chief Ophelia Ibrahim handed over P 1,000 to each of the 20 students who used to be street children in Cotabato City.
Under the city’s Children Program, these former vagabonds were enrolled last June through the facilitation of the OSWDS street educators. School expenses and other needs were provided by the office.
Sema appealed to these students to remain in school, saying they have no good future if they will not study. He promised that if financial resources would permit, he would find ways to increase the assistance to these students.
