TEACHING street girls on how to use contraceptives, such as condoms, is not an effective way of educating them to avoid problems on sexuality, an advocacy officer of a drop-in center for adolescents on the street said Monday.
Alma Acera, advocacy officer of Tambayan Center for Children's Rights in Davao City, said the center prefers teaching these girls about their sexuality and how they can take care of themselves.
Tambayan is a non-profit organization that provides basic services in protecting the welfare and rights of adolescent street girls in Davao City.
