KIDAPAWAN CITY -- A suspected New People’s Army (NPA) member surrendered to authorities on Wednesday in Sta. Cruz town in Davao del Sur, reports from the 39th Infantry Battalion (IB) said.
1st Lieutenant Raul Villegas, head of the civil-military operations of the 39th IB, identified the NPA rebel as Redante Lansi, also known as "Ka Marco," who used to work in the NPA’s medical team operating in the hinterlands of Davao del Sur province.
Villegas said the surrender of Lansi was done through the efforts of Sta. Cruz municipal mayor Jose Ray Lopez.
