However, a certain Concordio Jorege Paredes, 70 years old, married and a resident of P-5, Barangay Lapu-Lapu, this city died while watching the Pacquiao-Cotto boxing bout.
Initial investigation disclosed that the victim and his son Jonathan Paredes were watching the boxing bout at Yetan Eatery located at J.C. Aquino Avenue.
When Pacquiao almost knocked down Cotto for the first time in the fight at the second round, the victim fell down from the chair and became unconscious.
The 70 year old Paredes was immediately brought by his son to MJ Santos Hospital but was pronounced dead on arrival by the attending physician due to cardiac arrest.
