MAITUM, Sarangani (November 10, 2009) – Mayor Elsie Perrett formally turns over Monday, November 9, the Abaca Production and Animal Dispersal Project to Wali Abaca Farmers Association president Datu Adad Wali. The project is funded by the World Bank under the Mindanao Rural Development Project. A total of P1.75 million cash assistance was given to people’s organizations in barangays Wali, New La Union, Kiayap, Upo, Zion, and Ticulab. Projects selected by the organizations were abaca and lacatan production, animal dispersal, and integrated and diversified farming. (MAITUM INFORMATION OFFICE/Afren de Guzman)
