Butuan – On September 23, 2009 at around 11c’lock in the morning at Barangay Lemon this city, a service vehicle Toyota Corolla bearing plate number KCD 367 was accidentally bumped by Isuzu Elf model 4BA1 bearing plate number ZES 445.
Investigation disclosed that the service vehicle was driven by Hon. Felixberto Guiritan of legal age, married, Chief Prosecutor of Butuan City accompanied by PO2 Joel Docdoc.
While travelling the national highway and upon reaching Barangay Lemon the Isuzu Elf driven by one Jerry Quijada Haganap, of legal age, married and a resident of Purok 1-Silangan, Tiniwisan, Butuan City bumped the right portion of the said service vehicle.
The accident injured City Prosecutor Guiritan and PO2 Docdoc who were immediately brought to Butuan City Medical Center for medical treatment while the Isuzu Elf and the driver are now under the custody of Butuan City Police Station 4 for proper disposition.
The two injured victims are now in stable condition.
In other news, operatives from Butuan City Police Station 1 raided a boarding house at R. Palma Street, Barangay Dagohoy at 1:30pm yesterday.
Police reports revealed that inside the house are the suspects positively identified responsible in mauling and stabbing one Jericho Ponting, 23 years old, single and resident of said place.
Those arrested were Dante Alburo, 36 years old, single and Renan Romero, 18 years old both were residents of Damayohan, Magsaysay, Misamis Oriental.
Police have arrested 4 more suspects namely: Raffy Tustado, 19 years old, Mandy Tustado, 28 years old, Jonathan Cahiles, 18 years old, all from Purok 6, Nasipit, Agusan del Norte and a certain Noli Salazar, 43 years old, single and a resident of Pajo Street, Caloocan City, all Borders of Lance Apartment in R. Palma, Butuan City.
The victim was rushed to Provincial Hospital but was pronounced dead on arrival by the attending physician wherein, investigators say that the motive for committing the crime is misunderstanding.
Suspects that were apprehended are now detained at Butuan City Detention Cell and case for homicide has been filed to the prosecutor’s office.
