Butuan – In an effort to acquire an office conducive to working environment, personnel of the Provincial Environment and Natural Resources Office (PENRO) of Agusan del Sur headed by PENR Office Sixto Badua have pooled their resources to facilitate the building of a one-storey residential-type building that will house its 56 personnel and land records facilities.
Officiated by Archbishop Juan de Dios Pueblos the new PENRO Office was inaugurated in a blessing ceremony held recently.
Aside from its accessibility to the clients, acquiring a new building will save DENR more or less 250,000 from the cost of rental payments annually.
DENR Secretary Jose Atienza, Jr. represented by the Director of the Bureau of Forest Management Marlo Mendoza in his speech congratulated the DENR top officials in Caraga Region for prioritizing the construction of a PENRO office building in Agusan del Sur, paving way to a much improved and better service to the public.
On the other hand, DENR Regional Executive Director Edilberto Buiser has encouraged the personnel of the PENRO in Agusan del Sur to work hard with dedication of their duty to public service even with the acquisition of a new office building and commended the officers and staff for extending their cooperation and support just to ensure that the building would be done ahead of schedule.
“As government workers of PENRO, it is expected that you will improve the quality standard of services that you provide to the people which is the basic mandate of a civil servant. This building is just a tool being provided by the management to improve the delivery of services to the people,” said RED Buiser.
The new PENR office sits on a 4-hectare lot donated by the Provincial Government of Agusan del Sur in 2002. The area was utilized before as a macro-somatic and seedling nursery station of the Ecosystem Research and Development Services but inadequate funds has push aside the program and paved the way for the construction of the PENRO building.
