This coastal community in Talusan, Zamboanga Sibugay, is gearing up for increased trading and commercial activity following the recent construction of this boat landing by USAID’s Growth with Equity in Mindanao (GEM) Program, through its Barangay Infrastructure Project (BIP). The new facility will complement the municipal port and also serve the neighboring towns of Alicia, Payao and Olutantanga. The GEM Program, which is implemented under the oversight of the Mindanao Economic Development Council, is scheduled to complete 850 more BIP facilities in the next four years throughout Mindanao’s conflict-affected areas.
