August 30, 2008 - A columnist of the Philippine Daily Inquirer (PDI) was scored for his biases and unobjective writing regarding the Basilan clash on August 12, 2009 where 23 Marines were killed and 22 others wounded during an encounter with MILF fighters when the former launched a massive attack against the latter, who also lost 10 men and some wounded in action.The columnist was Ramon Farolan, whose article on August 24 entitled “MILF TERRITORY: ARE WE A FAILED STATE?” caught the ire of an MILF political officer in Western Mindanao.
