August 27, 2009 – Ambassador Makoto Katsura of the Japanese Embassy in Manila led the distribution of rice assistance for the internally displaced persons (IDPs) in the town of Datu Piang, province of Maguindanao yesterday. Six (6) family heads of IDPs were personally given with rice ration by Ambassador Katsura who was assisted by Stephen Anderson, Country Representative of the United Nations World Food Program (UNWFP), and Norio Matsuda, Chief Representative of Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) Philippines.
