July 27, 2009 – Internally displaced persons (IDPs) in Maguindanao expressed optimism for normalization of situation in the embattled areas in the subsequent time even as they expressed brief relief following separate pronouncements of reverting back to defensive posture by the government and Moro Islamic Liberation Front (MILF).
Information gathered from IDPs revealed significant progress on the situation in the embattled towns of Datu Piang, Datu Saudi, Mamasapano, Rajah Buayan, Shariff Aguak, Datu Unsay, Guindulungan, Talayan, Datu Anggal, Talitay and Kabuntalan in Maguindanao since Wednesday last week.
