July 11, 2009 - An official of a non-government organization (NGO) in Central Mindanao urged the United Nations World Food Program (UNWFP) to resume its food distribution to Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) in Maguindanao soon or many of them will starve to death.Arsad Solaiman, chairperson of the Youth for Bangsamoro Genuine Empowerment (YBGE), told www.luwaran.com that while their group sympathized with the concerns of the UFWFP officials for their safety in the wake of series of bombings in Mindanao particularly in Cotabato City and Iligan City, but to cancel the distribution of food stuff to the IDPs is a little bit too far a reaction that threatens the collective survival of hundreds of thousands of souls.
