Butuan – Terrorists plot to bomb Cagayan de Oro City, this was confirmed by Police City Director Noel Armilla of Cagayan de Oro City saying, that they are conducting surveillance for a white Isuzu Crosswind vehicle allegedly used by the terrorist group.

Intelligence report revealed, 15 terrorists were already in the city conducting exploration.

The officer said, that on Thursday police authorities received a call from a gas station adjacent to the Mindanao University of Science and Technology, a few meters away from Limketkai Mall informing them that a white Isuzu Crosswind was seen in the vicinity with 15 suspicious looking men.

Gasoline attendants recounted that they decided to call the authorities when some of these men went inside the comfort room and switched off the lights, showing unusual behavior.

In a matter of minutes, police authorities responded the call led by Director Armilla himself with Vice Mayor Vicente Emano but the suspected terrorists onboard the Isuzu Crosswind vehicle has just left the area.

Director Armilla wasted no time and immediately called for a flash alarm to Iligan City Police Office to possibly intercept the vehicle.

However, Armilla’s flash alarm came in late as the vehicle had already passed by the checkpoint at Iligan City and heading toward the direction of Marawi City.

At present, the Cagayan de Oro City Police Office are now viewing footages from the CCTV camera from the gasoline station to fully identify the suspected terrorists.

Early this week two bombs were found at Limketkai but successfully detonated by the authorities, while a bomb exploded in Iligan on Tuesday.

Iligan City Police Director Senior Supt. Leonardo Escalamado meanwhile suspected that those responsible in the bombing incident in Iligan are the same who placed explosives at Limketkai in Cagayan de Oro City last Sunday.

Progress reports revealed, the explosion in Iligan was caused by an 81 mm mortar and police authorities already had a lead of the suspect based on the footages from a CCTV camera placed at Sabayle Street corner Cabili Avenue where the incident happened.

An artist’s sketch of the suspected bomber has already been produced.
