A member of the K9 unit guides a bomb-sniffing dog as they inspect a suitcase left along Tulip Drive near a mall in Davao City on Thursday. The residents in the area called on the police for a fear that the suitcase may contain a bomb. But the suitcase was later destructed by bomb experts and it turned out that the suitcase was empty. The military has been placed on alert following the bombings in Cotabato City, Iligan and Jolo recently that killed over seven people and injured dozens of others. The military blamed the spate of bombings to the alleged rogue Moro Islamic Liberatin Front (MILF) members. Keith Bacongco / AKP Images
