July 4, 2009 – Indiscriminate artillery and mortar shelling by the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) raged on the past two days in villages in Maguindanao towns.
Field reports identified areas hit by the AFP indiscriminate bombardment spree included barangays Bagong Upam in Shariff Aguak, Tatapan and Pimblakan in Datu Saudi Ampatuan, and Linantagan in Mamasapano.
