July 5, 2009 – A powerful improvised explosive device (IED) exploded at Barangay Poblacion of Datu Piang in Maguindanao at around 7pm last night.
Three civilians were seriously wounded by the blast. One was reportedly brought to the provincial hospital in Maguindanao for immediate treatment.
Barangay Poblacion is the center of business and trading in Datu Piang and still many people where in the area when the bomb explosion happened.
The house of the town mayor is more or less 30 meters away from the scene of explosion.
