Students at the Tupi National High School in Tupi, South Cotabato, try out the new computers provided to their school by USAID’s Growth with Equity in Mindanao (GEM) Program, through its Computer Literacy and Internet Connection (CLIC) Project. The high school’s 1,640 students can now communicate with the rest of the world through the computers’ wireless broadband internet access. The GEM Program has provided CLIC to more than 830 schools in conflict-affected areas of Mindanao, with a combined enrollment of more than 650,000 students, under the oversight of the Mindanao Economic Development Council.
