A ranking official of the Moro Islamic Liberation Front (MILF) rebuffed both Chief Justice Reynato Puno and National Security Adviser Norberto Gonzales for inaccurate reading of the social volcano that is now brewing in the Philippines particularly in Mindanao where fighting has been ongoing for almost a year since August last year.
Khaled Musa, deputy chairman of the MILF committee on information, told both high government officials that the high intensity and protracted struggle of the Bangsamoro people for self-determination and freedom that already claimed the lives of 130,000 since 1972 is a serious crisis that could awaken both officials.
