BUTUAN CITY- Cabadbaran Police early dawn on Sunday rescued a 19 years old girl from the hands of suspected illegal recruiters at Baiding Garden Pensionne Hauz in Barangay 10, Cabadbaran City, the Caraga Police Office here in their report claimed.

The police identified the suspects as Prescilla Cahola Ertelo, 42, a native of Pangasinan but residing in Metro Manila and Christine Virginia Plaza, 20, companion of Ertelo while the victim was identified as Ajellen Amora, 19, single, resident of RAM Compound, Barangay Telesfora, Tubay, Agusan del Norte.

Charges of Anti-Human Trafficking law otherwise known as Republic Act 9208 has been filed against two suspects, the police said. Under the said law, no bail bond for temporary liberty granted against the suspects especially if victim or victims of the committed crime are minors.

Cabadbaran Police said initial investigation revealed they received information that an on-going illegal recruitment activities were on-going in the said place which they immediately responded and subsequently rescued the victim.

Responding cops claimed the suspects were waiting for their other recruits to come mostly from nearby places of Agusan del Norte.

But the suspects claimed parents and relatives of their recruits were even the ones asking cash advances from them in lieu of allowing them to go.

They claimed some even are forcing to let their daughters or relatives recruited first than the others in order to have jobs in Manila and subsequently can help family’ income.

They added that they too were forced to recruit which they think were legal because they are not forcing anyone due financial problems.

They said they were jobless before they joined the Manila-based recruitment agency paying them commission basis or depending the number of their recruits. (-30-)
