Butuan – June 12 celebration will start with simultaneous flag raising ceremonies at the Rizal Park and at Police Regional Office 13 after the motorcade from Butuan City Sports Complex to Rizal Park.
The 111th anniversary of the proclamation of Philippine Independence will be highlighted by the awarding of employment contracts, scholarships and training vouchers and livelihood grants to workers-beneficiaries under the Comprehensive Livelihood Emergency and Employment Program (CLEEP) at Almont Inland Resort after the wreath laying at the Rizal Park.
Caraga Region’s Cabinet Officer for Regional Development (CORD) and Department of Tourism Secretary Joseph Ace Durano will be the guest of honor representing Her Excellency President Gloria Macapagal Arroyo.
This year the celebration dubbed as Kalayaan 2009 anchored on its theme “Kagitingan, Kagalingan at Kasipagan: Tungo sa Tunay na Kalayaan.”
The Job and Livelihood Fairs is set to benefit not only displaced OFW’s but also those that are unemployed and underemployed.
248 government vacancies, 742 local vacancies and 4,100 overseas vacancies are amongst the job opening that will be offered by almost 30 employers both local and overseas who committed to join the event.
June 12 Job Fair is set for employment in government agencies, June 13 is for local employment and June 14 is for job overseas employment.
Other services include the Diskwento Food Caravan, trade exhibits, one-stop pre-employment documentation, and medical services.
The ceremonial opening of the Job and Livelihood Fairs at Almont on June 12 will be highlighted by the releasing of white balloons.
