BUTUAN CITY- A New People’s Army member was killed in the latest encounter between government troopers and communist rebels in hinterland Sitio Kibantang, Barangay Sta. Cruz, Rosario, Agusan del Sur on Monday morning, (June
Caraga Police Information Office in their report said.
Police said a team from Bravo Company of the 36th IB Philippine Army headed by 2Lt. Ryan Perez accidentally encountered a group of suspected NPA rebels which resulted to the confiscation of an M14 rifle bearing serial number1374567 at the place of encounter.
The police report claimed no reported casualty in the government side.
Reportedly government troopers are now conducting hot pursuit operations against the withdrawing rebels.
