ISULAN, Sultan Kudarat – It all started as a dream for the members of the Tacurong City Riders Motorcycle Club to set a Philippine Record of Motorcycle Riding in the 7,100 islands of the Philippines.

Who would think that they are now home bringing the pride of completing the 5,500-kilometer ride adventure in 20 days?

The rare adventure which kicked off in Tacurong City and culminated in Baguio City on May 19, 2009 aims to put Sultan Kudarat province in the roster of Philippine Record Holders.

Adhering to the dream, the Motorcycle Riders Club representing the province of Sultan Kudarat was able to victoriously finish the record of more than 5,000 kilometers ride hopping from one island to another in response to the 15th Annual Convention of the National Federation of Motorcycle Clubs of the Philippines.

The adventure was not an easy undertaking, said Eliseo “Nonoy” Romero, President of the Tacurong City Riders Motorcycle Club. He also added that there are logistics to be prepared and health requirements to be satisfied before one embarks on this.

In an interview, Romero delightfully recalled the places they have gone, the farthest of which, is the Pagudpud Island in Ilocos Norte province.

He also added that part of their adventure is the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to be one of the guests of the well-known ABS-CBN program “Wowowee,” joining the search for the “pinakamaasim na mukha” segment.

The successful 1st ever motorcycle riding adventure which is hoped to have a sequel was sponsored by Congressman Pax and Governor Suharto Mangudadatu. (AndrewHornales/PPDO-Sultan Kudarat)
