ISULAN, Sultan Kudarat – Everybody perspiring…
This was the scene in Sultan Kudarat when provincial employees stretched their muscles in an effort to make their respective department clean and beautiful.
In line with the clean and green beautification program, departments and offices under the provincial government did their part in this year’s clean up program of the Civil Service Commission (CSC) dubbed as “Brigada Ahensiya” to instill orderliness in the workplace.
Recently, the CSC issued Memorandum Circular No. 12 series of 2009 which directs all government agencies to devote one to three days in May for office clean-up. This includes sorting of files and records, refurbishing of facilities, planting, repainting and beautification of offices and building surroundings.
Under said Memorandum, the “Brigada Ahensiya” which was launched recently, will be observed annually to ensure effective and efficient delivery of government basic services to the people.
Noting also its contribution to employee’s morale and productivity, the clean-up program of the CSC is also expected to create a positive impression among clients, especially in areas where frontline services are provided.
In a memorandum relative to this CSC circular, Governor Datu Suharto T. Mangudadatu thru Provincial Administrator Manuel S. Lastimoso, Jr., orders heads of provincial offices to lead their employees in the clean-up activities as it supports the objectives of the just-launched 2009 Search for the Cleanest and Greenest Provincial Office.
Among the objectives are to make the provincial government a model for clean and green program and to promote best practices on proper waste management, thus making the capitol more conducive for local and foreign visitors.
To have an improved delivery of services and to keep the “SMILE Policy” in the bureaucracy, the Provincial Government of Sultan Kudarat has set aside the Thursday Sports Day for the Brigada Ahensiya last May 28, 2009. (AndrewHornales/PPDO-Sultan Kudarat)
