Makmod Pasawilan (above), a civil engineering graduate of the University of Southern Mindanao-Cotabato, helps to develop a subdivision in Tanay, Rizal, under the Productive Internships In Dynamic Enterprises (PRIDE), a U.S. government project implemented in partnership with leading corporations. Pasawilan completed his internship with property and agribusiness developer A. Brown Company Inc. (ABCI), one of several large Filipino or multinational firms providing qualified college graduates from Mindanao’s conflict-affected areas with three- to six-month management and technical internships through PRIDE, a project of the U.S. Agency for International Development. Following his internship, Pasawilan became full-time employee of ABCI.
